Do candidates get additional benefits under the EWS (eg: age relaxation, number of attempts, etc.)?

Although such an offer was initially made, no such exemption has yet been allowed.

Candidates who fall under the Economically Weaker section (EWS) will get only 10% reservation quota. There is no age limit or relaxation relative to the number of attempts. This is similar to the candidates in Open-Merit (General).

Difference between EWS reservation and OBC reservation
Non-creamy layer candidates in other Backward Communities (OBCs) will be given 27% reservation. However, only 10% reservation is allowed for economically weaker sections of the general category candidates.

Furthermore, in addition to quota, relaxation in the age limit, number of opportunities and cut-off marks are available for OBC, SC and ST. So far no relaxation has been given to the efforts of candidates in the general category or the financially impaired. There may be a special cut-off for the EWS quota - along the same lines as the OBC, SC and ST.

In determining the income of the OBC candidates, the income of the candidate or her husband is not included. However, the definition of family for the EWS quota is different. This includes the candidate and his spouse.
